COURSE TITLE

ECM | Anger Management & Emotional Regulation

SHORT COURSE DESCRIPTION

ECM Anger Management & Emotional Regulation is a structured, youth-centered course designed to help students understand their emotions, recognize anger triggers, and develop healthy coping and self-control skills. This course teaches practical strategies to reduce impulsive reactions, improve decision-making, and prevent behaviors that lead to school discipline, court involvement, or damaged relationships.

FULL COURSE DESCRIPTION

Anger is not the problem — uncontrolled anger is.

The ECM Anger Management & Emotional Regulation Course is intentionally designed to help youth understand what’s happening inside them before anger turns into consequences that affect their freedom, education, and future.

This course goes beyond telling students to “calm down.” Instead, it teaches them:

  • Why anger shows up
  • How emotions connect to thoughts and behavior
  • How to pause instead of react
  • How to make better choices under pressure

Through real-life examples, reflection exercises, skill-building activities, and accountability moments, students learn how to regulate emotions in situations involving:

  • Disrespect
  • Authority conflict
  • Peer pressure
  • Frustration
  • Stress
  • Embarrassment
  • Fear
  • Hurt

This course is ideal for:

  • Youth court referrals
  • School-based behavioral support
  • Alternative education programs
  • Mentorship and prevention programs

The ultimate goal is behavior change, not punishment — helping students stay free, focused, and in control of their future.
