ECM | Real Choices, Real Consequences helps young people connect everyday decisions with their effects on relationships, school, personal safety, and future opportunities. Through real-life stories, guided discussion, and practical exercises, learners explore how to pause under pressure, think ahead, and choose a more constructive response.

Led by Coach Eddie Ray Jackson, the course brings together emotional awareness, self-control, communication, and personal responsibility. Students practice useful skills and turn reflection into a plan they can apply beyond the screen.

What you will learn

• Recognize emotions, pressure, and situations that can lead to impulsive decisions.
• Consider immediate and longer-term consequences before acting.
• Use pause-and-reset strategies, clear communication, and safer ways to respond to conflict.
• Understand boundaries and responsibility at school, at home, online, and in the community.
• Explore topics such as online threats, property damage, violence prevention, school attendance, and speaking up for safety.
• Take ownership of choices, reflect on their impact, and build a personal control plan.

How the course works

The curriculum includes an orientation and 24 lesson units. Learning activities combine video instruction and real-life stories with written lessons, guided discussion, skill practice, reflection, accountability assignments, and knowledge checks. Students are expected to complete the required work thoughtfully and practice the skills in everyday situations.

Who this course is for

This course is designed for young people developing stronger decision-making and accountability skills. Families, schools, and youth-serving programs can review the curriculum to decide whether its topics and activities fit the learner’s needs.

What you need to get started

Use an internet-connected phone, tablet, or computer that can play videos and submit written work. Set aside focused time for each lesson, approach the exercises honestly, and ask a trusted adult or program contact for support when needed.
