If you are in immediate danger or have a medical emergency in the United States, call 911 or reach emergency care. Move to a safer place if you can. This course and its assignment boxes are not an emergency service and are not monitored continuously.

RAINN: Call 800-656-4673, text HOPE to 64673, or visit RAINN’s support chat. Ask about confidentiality and reporting limits before identifying details if that matters to your safety. Legal exceptions can apply, especially for minors and vulnerable people.

For children, teens, or people concerned about child abuse: Childhelp offers support and a state reporting directory. It is not the state child-protection reporting line or 911. If a caregiver is unsafe, seek help from an adult outside that situation and explain the danger of contacting home.

Medical care: A clinician can assess injuries and discuss infection prevention, pregnancy-related concerns, a forensic examination, and follow-up. Some options are time-sensitive: ask promptly. Care can still help if you washed, changed clothes, or waited. An advocate can help locate an appropriate provider.

At school or college: Ask which support professionals are confidential, which must report, and how to contact the Title IX coordinator or school safeguarding staff. School support, police reporting, and child-protection reports are different processes.

Use a safer device if yours may be monitored. Browser history, shared accounts, notifications, or bills can expose activity. Do not submit incident details, private contact lists, medical records, or intimate images in this course. You may use fictional examples throughout.

ECM provides education and mentorship. This course does not provide clinical treatment, legal representation, an investigation, or a guaranteed safety or legal outcome. Support-group guidance describes how to locate or organize a facilitated group; enrollment does not include a currently operating ECM survivor group.

Get Home Safe — Being Followed, Reaching Safety & Getting Help

Three practical lessons cover recognizing concerning following behavior, reaching a secure place and requesting emergency help during attempted entry, and reporting, preserving available evidence, and finding support afterward. Teen examples emphasize safe trusted adults, school and activity travel, and privacy. Practice uses fictional situations and does not require personal disclosures.
